Automatic inclusion of new saved files into DB

Hello,

I was wondering if it is somehow possible to inclued new saved files in a folder that is registered by the DB automaticly. And how.
Just to be clear what I mean:

I have a finieshed DB that holds informations of all my projects. This means Whos warking onm it, where it is, ..., and all my files on my hdd about this project. So if I click project X I'm presented with all my files Pdf,dwg,..
So these files are in different folder in a well sorted Filehirarchy.
What I want now is that when I add another dwg-file it is automatically included into my DB.

Can someone tell me if this is possible and give me some starting point where I have to look to get this feature?
