This is something different. What you refer to is the modelling section. In earlier version of MySQL Workbench we had a similar overview in the SQL Editor part too. However this appeared way to unflexible, so we removed it and reorganized the UI. All schema objects are now shown in the schema tree on the left hand sidebar.
