Space bar Key doesn't work

Until these last days I used mysql workbench 5.2.37-1ubu1104 with my ubuntu 12.04LTS 64b distro.
Yesterday, I noticed that my key space bar doesn't work anymore into the SQL editor and must use the window key+space bar to get it working instead.
Strange, I never remap any key.
I supposed it would be fixed by reinstall WB and see there is a new version, so I installed the 6.0.7-1ubu1204 package. Unfortunately, I am still having the same trouble.
Around 1 month ago, I upgraded ubuntu from 10.04LTS to 12.04LTS and mysql workbench to 5.2.37 relase but never noticed anything until now as I don't use WB a lot with this machine (not a dev box).
May be it could be due to this but I didn't find a way to remap the workbench keys into gnome

Anyone know how to fix this?

NB: I have a dev box with the same ubuntu 12.04LTS and workbench 5.2.37 releases and it works fine.
