Hi Jeffrey,

I'm sorry, but I can only help you here with problems related directly to MySQL Workbench. This requires that your system is properly set up and works as expected as well as your network set up so that one machine can reach the other etc. Once this is done you can go on and try working with MySQL Workbench. Use the MySQL installer for Windows to set up a MySQL server + MySQL Workbench.

Open an new thread here in the forum if you have still problems after that with specific questions. Don't hijack other threads.
