I see. Yes we have had a number of reports over the years about certain onboard graphics cards that make problems. MySQL Workbench uses plain OpenGL for the model rendering which no graphics board of today should have any problem with. But it appears as if certain on-board boards use drivers that don't implement OpenGL well. If you want a decent performance I recommend to look for an updated driver.

You don't see such problems often on Windows as OpenGL is not that much used there (Windows is mostly DirectX centric which is incompatible to any other platform, while OpenGL is an industry standard, but that's MS as we know it).
