It turns out there is a feature called 'Snippets' which is in it's own tab in the right hand side sidebar, this allows you to add your own queries.
This is OK, but doesn't appear to allow you any way to organize them in Groups, and double clicking one opens an edit window, rather than loading it into the editor.
