Workbench connection and mysql service

Hello,
I installed mysql on a server and during the process it asked to name the service which, as a newbie, wasn't' clear to me and I named it appMySQL (for example) and everything works ok.
The downside now is that when I try to connect to the database from my laptop using workbench there isn't a way to change the default service connection from MySQL service to appMySQL service. How can I establish this remote connection? Is there a way to define the service with the new name within Workbench?

Thanks
Dave
