Re: mysqldump fail only from workbench
More information on this. I think the problem is that when Workbench launches mysqldump it uses the password in a local .cnf file in preference to the one it has stored on the Gnome keyring. As I am trying to export from a remote instance the local password is the wrong one, so the export fails. If I remove the password from the local .cnf file, the one on the keyring is used.
This doesn't appear to be the same behaviour as is used for connections generally, where the keyring seems to take priority as far as I can tell.
Is there a way I can get Workbench to use the keyring in preference to the local .cnf file for mysqldump?
