glad to see you found a solution. But keep in mind that things evolve. You cannot forever stay on an old system. Supporting years old OSes puts a lot of constraints on development and also is potentially unsecure. MySQL Workbench requires 10.7 as the minimum Mac OS and starting with 6.3 will only be available as 64bit binary. Since 10.10 (Yosemite) is now the current OS expect to have raised the min OS requirement to 10.8 sooner or later.
