Hi Jeffrey,

seems you got confused by the various parts of MySQL Workbench. There is a data modeling part (which you already explored) and the SQL IDE (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/workbench/en/wb-develop.html) to work against a real server, query data and manage it (e.g. backup/restore, user management etc.).
