Sorry for the delay, been absent.

My ubuntu version is 14.04lts which as been installed for a good while. If I remember correctly a little after it be came available.

The only change is my MySQL upgrade from 5.5 to 5.6.33. My problems occurred after this upgrade. It almost seems that during the upgrade MySQL un-installed MySQL workshop. The upgrade works well. My databases are intact and accessible

Since workshop seemed to be absent I tried a fresh install from the terminal and the software center both did not work. I tried the software center first. The error messages are posted on my original post

I usually load Mysql Workshop from the dash control but when I typed in Mysql workshop the dash did not display the workshop logo. I only told me that it was available (this is why I thought it was un-installed)
