Workbench now fails when run as a Bamboo build step

I have been using workbench from a bat file as a Bamboo build step for some time without problem. The build step uses a simple python script to export a mwb file to a sql script.

In the last couple of days, however, the mysqlworkbench step does not run properly as it fails to terminate.

Strangely, the batch file can be run from a command prompt on the build machine and works as expected.

I've tried adding verbose and logging to the command line argument but don't get any useful information out.

Can anyone suggest any environment variables or other factors that would suddenly stop workbench from running? Are there any other diagnostics that I can obtain?
