Hi Mike,

pixman is part of libpixman package for which I have the latest version installed however those libraries have been obsoleted by cairo package which I've also installed but same results.

The package available on the MySQL Workbench website is 5.2.30

mysql-workbench-gpl-5.2.30-el6.i386.rpm

which I'm assuming is for Redhat 6 and I've been unable to install on Redhat 5.3. What I've installed is an older version of 5.2

mysql-workbench-oss-5.2.14-lrhel5.i386.rpm

any chance this could be the source of the problem, an outdated package?
