Workbench 5 Connect via cmd line but not GUI

Have MySQL up and running with Workbench on the same server.
Fire up workbench and am able to use the command line interface via the GUI just fine but unable to use SQL Editor and other GUI driven options.
When I fire up the SQL Editor it gives the error of:
"Your connection attempt failed for 'root' from your host to server localhist 3306:
Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (10061).
What should I look at and/or tweak to get WB to log into my local MySQL instance?
