Hi Marco,

the connection and read timeouts are currently hardcoded. We recently raised their values to 30 and 600 seconds, respectively, which will be available with the next release. If you are willing to compile MySQL Workbench yourself to get this effect immediately then let me know and I'll give you the details what must be changed.
