5.5.29 64bit on windows 8 Anyone?

Hi, I installed 5.5.29 64bit on a windows 8 system and there were no errors during the install. There does not seem to be any service or database process running after the install. When I run bin\MySQL.exe it says that there is no MySQL server to connect to.
Is this a problem with windows 8 or 64bit? Am I missing something?
