Hi

I assuming you are referring to the VC++ Runtime and is necesary as a prerequisite for some products like the conector C or Workbench, the Server product itself doesn't need a prerequsite.

the installer needs the Framework Client Profile 4 runtime prior to be executed, this is not the the full framework 4 runtime, is a smaller runtime.
