Installing MySQL Workbench fails with exception

After having installed MySQL Server 5.6.21 using the Windows Installer, I tried to install MySQL Workbench, but it fails and in the details it says:

"1: Download of package 'MySQL Workbench 6.1.7' failed with message Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

How can I fix this?
