Hi Paul,
Thanks for writing in our forums.
This issue is actually present in the MySQL for Visual Studio stand-alone MSI, so not related to the MySQL Installer.

You can see there is another thread in this same forum of users reporting the same problem. We already have a bug related to it:
http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=71226

You can subscribe to it to be notified when it is fixed.
