If you use MySQL installer you must replace the binaries without deleting the data folder. To do so, you may uninstall the enterprise version and install community without deleting the data folder. Be aware that some enterprise tools are not be available for the community version.
The process will be similar to what is specified for the 'In-place Upgrade' in here:

You will probably require to run the mysql_upgrade tool also.
