Try a clean install.

Uninstall any version of connector you had previously installed from Control Panel>>Uninstall a program.

Delete every connector .NET folder inside the following locations:

%ProgramFiles%\MySQL
c:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL
%ProgramData%\MySQL

Verify you comply with the prerequisites (latest versions of connector net may require Framework 4.5.1 installed)

Run the installation again.
If you still have problems let us know.
