Thanks for writing in our forums!
The problem you saw has been already filed as a bug (http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=68746) so you can subscribe to it to know when it is fixed.
As you say here, what Mathias described is not a proper solution.
This is being treated as a high priority issue so please monitor the bug to know when the version containing the fix is released.
