Josh is right, his troubleshooting steps are good to know what's happening in your environment.
There are some prerequisites for installing MySQL for Excel, also listed in the official documentation. If you installed the add-in through the MySQL Installer for Windows, it should have verified and ensured the prereqs are installed.
If you see MySQL for Excel was installed correctly and you checked that MySQL for Excel appears in the list of COM Add-Ins in Excel and it is unchecked then maybe the add-in is having problem to start, sometimes other add-ins may conflict.
Please come back to us here with your findings so we can help you troubleshoot further what is happening.
Definitely MySQL for Excel would be the easiest way to migrate Excel data to a MySQL database.
