Arrays, Changing data directory and user variables

hi.I am using MySQL 4.1.1 on WinXP and VB.I have the following queries.ple help. thanx in advance

1.Does MySQL provide arrays.?
2.Can i change the directory which stores the databases that are created by the user.?
3. Finally, can I convert a string into the name of a variable in MySQL.for e.g the user decides to call a variable 'varx' in mysql. Then in mysql we create a variable with name 'varx' of some data type.? :)
