Argh, I hit enter on the post before being able to finish/edit this message :P Ya'll know my server name now, be gentle!

Anyway, one of my clients was experiencing this error when trying to connect to our main database. Does anyone know if there is a counter variable that shows the current number of connection errors?

I have set the max_connect_errors variable to be very high and have a nightly cron that runs 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'. This hack is fine for now, but I'd rather have a better way to watch this and be more pro-active.

Thanks,
Tony
