QueryCache stats

(mysql 4.0.23)

PhpMyAdmin indicates me strange data :

select 18,403,386

Qcache queries in cache 17855
Qcache inserts 18329425
Qcache hits 17205724
Qcache lowmem prunes 187115
Qcache not cached 73957
Qcache free memory 90931184
Qcache free blocks 8469
Qcache total blocks 44519

So here : SELECT = Qcache inserts + Qcache not cached

And it's something strange, shouldn't it be rather :
SELECT = Qcache inserts + Qcache hits + Qcache not cached
