i'm experiencing the same problem with mysql 4.1.15 when reaching ~1k
q/s on a smp server...
switching to tcp socket, proposed in this bug report (http://bugs.mysql.com/10525), is not a practicable solution because it's
slower and causes the apache processes to spawn till saturation.
i've verified that mysql isn't restarting itself because the process number remains the same while the error occour...
maybe is this caused by some system variable? any idea?
