Appreciate the pointer. Good one. I'll have to check and see if I can impose that on the data - there may be reasons they want one column per possible response. If not, that's a good start.

But even at 300 indexes - is that even alowable in mysql? I tried to put indexes on all my 3,000 columns and got the error message: "Too many indexes. Maximum 32 keys allowed".
