There's no answer to fit all cases. Since 5.0.96, there have been many incompatible changes. Which ones affect your code, only you can tell by comparing your code to a list of incompatibilities (eg see "incompatibilities" at
http://www.artfulsoftware.com/infotree/mysqltips.php, and for more detail see the Release Notes in the docs for 5.1, 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7.
