Those are counters since restart. Divide them by Uptime to get 'per second'.

The ration between them in informative:
Table_locks_waited / Table_locks_immediate
It indicates that there is a lot more waiting.

How long are the "few selects"? If they are long running, that could be causing Table_locks_waited.

Is it a problem? Is replication getting behind? What is in the slowlog?
