Mysql server will take of this, as it uses LRU (Least Recently Used) strategy for choosing key cache blocks to be evicted but it also supports a more sophisticated method called the "midpoint insertion strategy." Before you consider playing around with 'midpoint insertion startegy', provide us output of the following command:

show global status like 'key%';
