convert myisam to innodb - table status

hi

I'm going to convert a huge table (150GB) from myisam to innodb and wondering if during this operation the table can receive updates and inserts? Can it be done on-line??
This action will take on my HW serveral hours.
Please explain to me what happens to the converted table?
