performance issue

Hi,
I have a database with size 497 GB, it continue to grow in size over time,the problem is the performance goes down with the database growth.For example,
one of the tables contain 494796572 records and it is hard to get query result even with where clause.
I want to ask if i get the enterprise edition does it solve the problem?
