Recovering Corrupt ibdata1 files

I have a problem. It started with mysql errors. I shut down the database and when I tried to restart the server it refused to start. From what I can tell the ibdata1 file is corrupted. Not knowing what this file does I moved it to a different directory and the server came up. I now know it contains important data and I need to find a way to recover it.

So - I'm not a MySQL expert and could really use some help. I give away a lot of free service, and not rich. I host sites for Larry Lessig of Creative Commons (his wiki is down) and John C. Dvorak og PC Mag as well as IPJustice and other non profits.

So - hoping someone will help out. I'm really stuck here. What do I do?
