Prefinal results: Error 1032 Can't find record in ...
Last tests with "real" transactions still show up the same erratic behaviour of the INSERT...SELECT statements. This is true regardless of the transaction isolation level and whether LOCK IN SHARE MODE is used or not.
The likelyness of the error to occur seems to increase the more records the select-part of the statement matches.
I consider this behaviour a bug in MySQL.
Any suggestons for next steps or workarounds, anyone?
