how can i add two mysql server instances on linux

hi,
i hv to run two instances of mysql i.e mysql 4.1 and mysql 5.0 on the same machine.
i hv studied and followed the steps from the mysql documentation...but it is giving these errors..

nohup: ignoring input and redirecting stderr to stdout
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/local/mysql4/data
STOPPING server from pid file /var/run/mysqld4/mysql.pid
080528 18:29:11 mysqld ended

please reply soon..as it is urgently needed.
