Thanks Eric! I have already done this test but the problem is that when I restart MySQL Server after the modify to my.ini, the service is not start because it seems that not detect or not access the database file placed on the network. If I reset datadir to the original value C:\Program Files\MySQL\ ... everything works properly.
I'm using WindowsXP SP3 with IIS 5.1 and MySQL 5.0.51b.
