InnoDB Backup

Hi guys,

I have recently created a database system using InnoDB and have noticed I have the following aspects to a backup:

MySQL scheduled backup - essentially a snapshot of the current db
InnoDB Log files
MySQL Bin log

Somehow I feel that I may be backing up more than I need to. In theory I should only need the first two?

Could someone please explain the importance for using one method of logging over another?

Thank you very much.
