CHECKSUM TABLE on InnoDB

I had read that "CHECKSUM TABLE" can be used only for MyISAM tables

But, i would like to confirm id this is limited to MyISAM only. I am running a InnoDB engine. My version of MySQL is 5.1.31 enterprise version. Can i use CHECKSUM on an InnoDB engine considering the version of MySQL i am using.
