The messages imply that mysqld started running
> 130701 16:50:30 [ERROR] Can't open the mysql.plugin table. Please run mysql_upgrade to create it.
Do run mysql_upgrade. It will fix several differences between the version you recently installed and the previous version. Maybe all the other errors will go away.
