Complicated in the sense that it does not appear to be an easy fix like permissions.
I try to avoid trial and error when it comes to data corruption. Normally it is enough to do the force recovery (might have to try all the options, 1-6). But make sure to do that on a copy of the data so you do not hurt the original copy.
