I know ib_logfile0 is vital, but I thought this can be the cause of a so heavy data loss... something like file corruption. The day before mysqldump could dump all data because it read from logs file, that data was unflushed for many days and the log corruption causes that heavy data loss...

Hibernate framework seems (by general log) to use begin...commit, but I do not think this is due to transaction problem, remember there were many server restart and many mysqldump backups from the rollback point and the disaster point. It is unbelivable there was a so big, unique and 3-days alive transaction.

If I can reproduce the error I will report it at bugs.mysql.com
