InnoDB is creates tables in 16KB blocks. You currently have 1 block. It computes (or estimates) the number or records. 2 in this case. Then it divides those two to bet 8KB.

Add a 3rd row to see what I mean.

Neither Num_rows nor Avg_row_length can be trusted.
