ROLLBACK Segments found

Hi,
While looking through a log file on Workbench I noticed this item:

InnoDB: 96 redo rollback segment(s) found. 96 redo rollback segment(s) are active

Does this relate to the number of BEGIN / COMMIT / ROLLBACKS I've done? If yes, is there any danger that "forks" will appear in my tables.
Is it best practice to remove the rollback segments? How do you do that?

Thank you,
Phil,
