MySQL Forums :: Performance :: SQL Row Pattern Matching

Hello All!

I have found some very interesting news which is actually not new news; but in my mind, still worth sharing with the MySQL community in the interest of the possible benefits it could bring to MySQL users.

I would like to beg the indulgence of the forum and share this information with the MySQL community in the hope that maybe the MySQL development team might decide to implement this language element in a future version of MySQL.

If this is not the proper forum for my comments, I humbly apologize and ask to be directed to the proper forum.

I realize that there are many differences between Sybase and MySQL, and I would never suggest that MySQL (or Sun) should play "follow the leader" to anyone. MySQL is a world class product.

However, please check out the link below. The functionality and absolutely unimaginable utility of this proposed language element is astounding.

Perhaps we in the open source community could bestow some of our talent and time to the realization of this concept in the implementation of the MySQL platform?
