Performance Comparison

Does ORACLE enterprise/standard edition binaries perform better than the community edition binaries? or are they really the same? Long ago, I had heard that ORACLE binaries are compiled with specialized commercial compilers that allow it to support a much higher number of simultaneous connections with the same amount of system resources simply because the binaries are more efficient. Is there any truth to this?

Are there benchmarks available that compare the performance of ORACLE enterprise/standard binaries, community binaries and perhaps even Percona binaries?

Thanks!
