Stefan,

Apologies for the delayed reply.

Yes, the directory structure changed in MCM 1.2.3 to allow for easier upgrades to new MCM versions in the future. As you have already found, everything mcmd has been moved under a new versioned directory alongside the cluster directory.

Starting MCM 1.2.3 the install hierarchy looks like:
./mcm1.2.4
./cluster
./mcm_data

The mcmd binary can be found as mcm1.2.4/bin/mcmd. The mcm_data directory is created on first invocation.

Future versions of both MCM and cluster may now be installed alongside the currently installed ones, for an easier upgrade:
./mcm1.2.4
./cluster
./mcm_data
./mcm1.X.Y <-- new MCM version
./cluster-X.Y.Z. <-- new cluster version

HTH,
T
