Many thanks for the feedback,

I had a feeling that there would be a performance hit but I really hadn't expexcted such a dramatic difference between NDB and non-ndb configurations. Also given that the SQL servers in use hit and remain at 100% throughout the test (NDB boxes remain at approx 30-40%), I'm not sure that the performance could be improved on a request per request basis. As such increaing the number of SQL servers would allow for greater scalability it would still be limited by the performance of the individual SQL servers themselves (If I'm reading the manuals etc correctly).

I suspect MyISAM in a replicated configuration may be the way forward in our environment but, if anyone can help, the clustered scenario remains of significant interest.
