Replication may or may not help. Please provide more information.

That probably means that all (or most) queries would have to hit the Master. That is, the Slave(s) would provide little or no performance benefit.
OTOH, long-running "reports" (readonly) could be run on a Slave, thereby having no impact on the updates that are meanwhile hitting the Master. This a case where Replication would be a performance benefit.
But... will Magneto let you spit queries between the Master and the Slave?
