Thank you for any help you can provide. Below is the answer you your questions.
mysql.log is empty.
error.log doesn't have anything new. The only message I can't really explain is '[ERROR] Invalid (old?) table or database name 'lost+found'' But it predates this problem.
I have have tried restarting the mysqld service and the full server neither seemed to have an affect.
slave version 5.1.72 Ubuntu 10.04
master version 5.1.72 Ubuntu 10.04
